Aquarius New Moon/ The Year of the Water Dragon
It is so fitting that 2012 is also the year of the Water Dragon. In the East, Dragons are regarded as having similar qualites to angels; they can be called upon to provide assistance,and they help humans manifest abundance and good fortune.Sinuous in nature, Dragons are symbolic of DNA, or the connection that humans have to higher consciousness and soul development.
In Chinese element theory, water produces wood, which signifies growth and is the natural element of the dragon. The dragon governs east/southeast, wealth accumulation & the hours of 7am-9am. Associated with thunder, lightning and arousal, the Water Dragon personifies creativity at its best.
The energetic high point of the year is the dragon moon, which is from May 20 to June 18. The New Moon of May 20th is a Solar Eclipse at 0 Gemini, which trines the January New Moon in Aquarius. This high point is also during a rare alignment of Venus passing directly between the sun and the earth. These rare astrological/astronomical events come in pairs that are 8 years apart, but are then separated by over a century.
The most recent transit of Venus was a thrilling sight in 2004. After the June 2012 transit of Venus (the last one in your lifetime), the next such alignment occurs in 2117. There are many possible interpretations of this important event, and I will explore them over the next months.
Considering that Venus rules relationships, we can certainly expect that relationships of all sorts will be on the front burner for 2012. And, this Venus transit can also be thought of as an eclipse of sorts; during which secrets and hidden objects are revealed. Expect life changing events on both the personal and world fronts, especially in late May to June.
